Australian Grassfed Beef Flank Steak is a lean, full-flavoured cut taken from the underside of the animal. Our grassfed flank steak comes from cattle raised on open Australian pasture, giving it a clean, natural beef taste and excellent consistency.
Flank steak has a long, visible grain and very little fat. That makes it a favourite for dishes where bold beef flavour matters: grilled steak sliced thin, stir-fries, fajitas, tacos and steak salads. It takes on marinades beautifully, so it works just as well with simple salt and pepper as it does with soy, garlic, citrus or chilli.
How to Cook Grassfed Flank Steak
The secret to tender flank steak is high heat, a short cooking time and slicing against the grain. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight in the fridge), pat dry, then sear on a very hot grill or pan for 3–5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Rest for 5–10 minutes, then cut into thin slices across the grain. This shortens the muscle fibres and gives you a tender bite every time.
For stir-fries, slice the raw steak thinly against the grain, toss with a little cornflour and soy sauce, and cook quickly in a smoking-hot wok with your favourite vegetables.
