The Domaine Chasselay Fleurie III 2019 is a wine produced by Domaine Chasselay, a winery located in the Beaujolais region of France. Fleurie is one of the ten crus of Beaujolais, known for producing elegant and aromatic wines primarily from the Gamay grape variety.
Domaine Chasselay is one of the oldest wineries in Beaujolais. The domaine is located in Châtillon d’Azergues in Rhône region. Since 1464, this family of winegrowers has been cultivating their vines using techniques that respect the environment and the soil. One of the pioneers of organic agriculture (BIO) in Beaujolais, their Doamine Chasselay Fleurie III 2019 wines have been certified since 2006.
Domaine Chasselay Fleurie III 2019 grapes are exclusively hand harvested. The fermentation takes place naturally in small or large oak barrels. They use only natural yeasts. Their wine philosophy’s production is to produce terroir wines while respecting nature. One plot of their vineyard was planted in 1894, therefore those vines are 115 years old.
In this cuvée are grouped plots of vines from 3 climates: “La Levratière”, “La Chapelle des Bois” and another climate “C – – – – – – – e” whose name should not be pronounced. The plots are plowed by Yago, a handsome Ardennais, throughout Fleurie. The juices are fresh and delicate thanks to the granite soil. This does not change our pleasure in working these magnificent plots of Fleurie and producing wines with passion.
