Nature’s Superfoods’ Organic Raw Cacao Nibs (pronounced ‘Ka-CAW’) come from organic unroasted cacao beans of the premium variety Criollo (deemed as ‘king of cacao’ for its fine flavor & fragrance). These nibs are actually cacao beans that have been peeled and crushed into cacao bits (nibs).
The raw cacao beans are lightly fermented to bring out the cocoa flavor, increase nutrient availability and reduce phytic acid content. Minimally processed and unroasted, raw cacao contains higher amounts of antioxidants, magnesium, iron and potassium than the highly processed, roasted cocoa.
